What will you be doing for six weekends in June and July 2024?

Coined “a golfing tournament of a different kind," the Outback Queensland Masters (OQM) is Australia’s most remote golfing event designed exclusively for social, and amateur golfers with the chance to "give it a crack", at a Million-Dollar Hole-In-One in some of Australia's most remote locations. The event welcomes a swag of grey nomads on an epic 2,000+-km outback adventure across six Outback Queensland towns. The unique experience simultaneously facilitates long-term infrastructure improvements for remote clubs while creating life-long friendships, “where we come as strangers, but leave as mates”. OQM is organised by Golf Australia in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland.

Location: Six towns across outback Queensland. Those towns change each year, and in 2024 they will be Quilpie, Charlieville, Barcaldine, Winton, Boulia and finally Birdsville.

When: For six weekends from 16 June to 21 July in 2024.

Experiences: With limited passes available, a ticket to the OQM also gives you access to merchandise and specially curated experiences such as nightly dinners with entertainment which are being developed exclusively for OQM player and spectator pass holders. This means that each location where a stage of the tournament is held becomes a memorable event within itself.

Judges said: There are so many things to love about this event series. We love that the organisers address legacy issues and ensure the communities gain from hosting a stage within the tournament, and that they recognise the natural environment is one of the major strengths of their event experience. Their use of socially inclusive programming - for grey nomads, for young players, for families and even for those travelling with pets, is incredible.
